360-degree Virtual Reality Movie
What would it feel like to dive to the bottom of the sea from hundreds of millions of years ago and experience the life down there?
Would you like to meet busy trilobites and giant predators of the sea, sea scorpions, and nautiloids?
There is now a virtual reality version of the exhibition The Secrets of Ancient Sea which invites you to experience travelling hundreds of millions of years back in time and teaches you about ancient sea creatures!
In the movie, which you can watch with a VR headset, you can see the distances that continents, including the area where Estonia lies, have covered during millions of years of drifting. Come and see what Estonia looked like 600 million years ago, after the longest ice age in the history of the Earth. Travel to the time when giant reptiles ruled the world. Experience the latest ice age, which caused the Baltic Sea, geologically the youngest sea in the world, to come into being.
The virtual reality movie lasts for about seven minutes and the viewers travel through six different periods spanning hundreds of millions of years. The movie can be watched with a special headset and up to ten people can see the movie at one time. The movie is available in Estonian, Russian, and English.
Virtual reality screenings will take place from Tuesdays to Friday at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m with additional screenings on Thursdays at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. On Sundays and Saturdays the screening takes place at 12.15 p.m.,1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m. In addition to the top of the hour, the screenings can take place at other times on a live queue basis, if possible.
